June 2-3, 2023
24 hour walk through 24 wards in Ottawa, ON in support of Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa
Funds raised: More than $15,000!
|We did it! 24 hours, 24 wards, 100km, over 132,000 steps, equivalent to 2 1/3 marathons! We will be back, bigger (not longer!), after a short recuperation! Thank you to everyone in our corner and to everyone who joined us and messaged us!|
On June 2, 2023, Greg and Aaron will begin their 24 hour walk at noon, touching on all 24 wards in the City of Ottawa with a planned arrival at Ottawa City Hall at noon, the following day. The total distance is more than 100km which more than doubles the 2022 walk.
The Route for 2023
The starting point will be at Cooligan Martial Arts and Fitness at 12 Cedarow Court in Stittsville, ON. Greg is the manager of the club and instructor and Aaron is also a Cooligan Martial Arts black belt. In fact, the whole family trained there including Aric who achieved his black belt and worked as an instructor for a period of time.
*On the day of the walk, there will be a live update link for you to follow our progress
Share your memories
We are not alone living with the tragic loss of a family member or friend to mental health and addiction. We would like you to join us at City Hall on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at noon to remember friends and family that left the world too early and to honour the beauty and joy that they spread while they were here.
Bring a picture and post it along with a message on one of the signs that we will have available at our tent. If you would like to include a family member or friend but can’t be there, please send us a photo and a message and it will be included on the day, or better yet, meet Aaron and I somewhere on the walk and we will carry the picture and memory with us to City Hall.
Celebrate the victories
Come show the city that there is hope. Celebrate those who battled through mental health and addictions and offer hope to those who are still fighting.
Help us meet our goal
With over 1.4 million people in Ottawa/Gatineau, if 5 percent of the population donated just $1 each, we would exceed our goal by $20,000. We can’t do this without you! How can you help?
- Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and share the website and social media pages. Help spread the word!
- Donate! Every dollar counts and 100% of the proceeds will be going to Youth Services Bureau.
- Join us for a portion of our walk. Just a block or two will provide encouragement to continue on. This years walk is approximately 60km longer than the 2022 walk.
- Join us at City Hall. Our goal is to arrive at noon on Saturday, June 3.
